At 17:52 hrs, Shelton Fire Companies 1 (Echo Hose), 4 (Pine Rock) & 5 (White Hills) were dispatched to a reported Attic Fire on Division Ave. Engine 2 (Echo Hose) with 102 (Echo Hose 1st Lieutenant) arrived on scene and reported heavy black smoke coming from the windows on the 3rd floor. Engine 2 stretched an attack line to the 3rd floor for an aggressive interior attack. 102 established command and ordered Engine 53 (White Hills) to tag a hydrant and lay into Engine 2 to establish a water source. Engine 42 was ordered  to throw ground ladders, begin ventilation and open up the roof. Roof endued up not needing to be cut and ventilation via the windows was completed.

Engine 2s crew was met with heavy smoke and a lot of heat on the 3rd floor but was able to make a quick stop and extinguished the fire in 10 minutes. Structure was ventilated, Overhaul of the structure was completed and Red Cross was contacted for the homeowner. Fire Marshals Division arrived and is conducting the investigation as to the cause. There were no reported injuries.
