Companies 1, 4 and 5 of the Shelton Fire Department were dispatched to the location provided for a possible structure fire. Dispatch advised the units responding that they received one call reporting a fire on the porch next door to the caller’s location. Upon the arrival of Engine 2, a fire was confirmed on the porch and a working fire was transmitted. The fire was quickly extinguished and additional crews checked the home for any fire extension into the home. Minors extension was located inside the home on the 1st floor and a moderate smoke condition was throughout the home. Crews remained on the scene for some time conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The Fire Marshal responded to conduct the investigation. No injuries were reported and the home was habitable after fire operations concluded. Engines 2, 52, 42, Ladder 51, Rescue 45, and approximately 35 members operated under the command of Lieutenant Justin Mayer. Echo Hose EMS stood by in the event someone was injured and Huntington Co. 3 provided citywide coverage in the event another emergency occurred.
