At 6:37 pm, Companies 1 and 3 of the Shelton Fire Department were alerted to an accident on Route 8 Northbound between exits 13 and 14. As the first fire unit arrived, it was quickly determined a single motorcyclist was down on the road and unresponsive. Once Echo Hose Ambulance arrived and assessed the patient, it was determined the patient was not revivable. Car 5, Squad 1, Engine 32 Utilities 4 and 31 operated under the Command of Assistant Chief Joe Constantino. SFD is presently assisting the State Police with closing the entry ramp at exit 13 Northbound. At the time of this post, Utilities 4, 31, and Car 3 were still on the scene.
