At about 1:20 pm on 1/09, the Shelton fire department was alert to a structure fire on Capital drive. Upon the arrival of the first arriving unit, an active fire was confirmed in the garage. Under command of Assistant Chief Mike Plavcan, members of Engine 32 utilized a 1 3/4” hose line to extinguish the fire. The fire was controlled within 10 minutes and crews proceeded to check for hotspots. No injuries occurred to fire or civilian personnel. The main body of the home is habitable. Approximately 20 Firefighters were on the scene along with Engine 32 was Engine 35, Engine 52, Ladder 51, Squad 1, Car 5, and Car 6. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
