At approximately 11:50 am, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Howe Avenue for the reported structure fire. Upon the arrival of the first arriving fire unit, the fire was visible from a window on the 2nd floor. Crews quickly made entry and found a small fire in a bathroom. Members extinguished the fire and conducted overhaul checking for any hidden pockets of fire in the walls and ceiling. Approximately 15 members operated on the scene under the Command of Chief Francis Jones. Other units on the scene were Cars 2, 3, 4, and 5, Engine 2, Squad 1, Ladder 51, Truck 9, Shelton EMS, and the Police Department. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries occurred to fire or civilian personnel. All fire units were clear within an hour.
