Shelton Fire Department Companies 1 and 3 were dispatched to the location provided for a report of a multiple-vehicle accident with one vehicle that rolled over. As units arrived, a 4 car MVA was found spanning approximately 1000 ft of the highway. One vehicle was found in the woods with significant rear-end damage, one was on the side of the road with moderate driver’s side and front end damage, one was found approximately 300’ up the road rolled over on its roof and the final vehicle was several hundred feet from that with relatively minor damage. All occupants were out of their cars upon arrival. Echo Hose Ambulance evaluated all occupants and transported just one to a local trauma facility with non-life-threatening injuries. FD mitigated the fluids that leaked from the vehicles and assisted EMS with scene protection. Once EMS cleared and the wreckers removed all of the cars, FD was able to reopen the highway. Squad 1, Rescue 30, Engine 32, Cars 2, and 6 operated under the command of Assistant Chief Joe Constantino.
