At 3:37pm this afternoon Shelton Fire Department companies 1 and 3 responded to Route 8 North between exits 12 and 13 for the reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, fire department units found a 2 car motor vehicle accident into the wooded area in the left median. The operator of one vehicle needed to be extricated by removing the driver’s side door. Both operators were transported to area hospitals by Shelton EMS.
