At approximately 12:19 pm, the Shelton Fire/Police Dispatch alerted Companies 3,1, and 5 of a possible bathroom on fire at the provided location. Upon the arrival of the first fire unit, smoke was visible from the roof of the home and a working fire was transmitted. As apparatus arrived, crews entered the home with a 1 3/4” fire hose and determined the fire was located in the attic. As crews extinguished the fire, additional members proceeded to check for fire extension and ensured nobody was still in the home. The fire was under control within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported and the home sustained damage to the attic and other areas of the upper floor from smoke and water. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office. Approximately 25 members worked under the command of Assistant Chief Joe Constantino. Apparatus on the scene were Engine 32, Squad 1, Ladder 51, Rescue 30, and Cars 3, 4, and 6. Company 4 provided coverage for the City in the event of another emergency. Uncertain if the home is habitable at the time of this release.
