Just after 5 am, Companies 1, 4, and 5 were dispatched to a possible basement fire at the location provided. Upon the arrival of the first fire unit, the homeowner stated a fire was in the basement. Upon investigation, an electrical fire was located in the basement. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly with a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Damage was limited to the immediate area of the electrical panel and the living areas of the home are habitable. No injuries occurred to the residents or firefighters. Engines 2, 42, 52, Ladder 51 Cars 3, 4, and 5 operated under the command of Fire Chief Francis Jones, Car 1. Echo Hose Ambulance provided EMS standby in the event any injuries occurred. EMS also provided rehab for the crews. Huntington Fire Company 3 provided Citywide coverage in the event any additional emergencies occurred. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the fire.
