At around 3:40 p.m. Co.1 was dispatched to the area of 100 Bridgeport Ave for the reported vehicle fire. Engine 2 arrived to find a vehicle on a flat bed tow truck with smoke showing from the hood. The vehicle which had been involved in an MVA began to catch fire while being towed away. Once the vehicle was removed from the tow truck, the crew went to work extinguishing the fire. The incident was placed under control a short time after.
