At 16:41hrs companies 1, 4 and 5 with Derby as RIT were dispatched to Canal Street for the working factory fire. FM4 was on scene first reporting smoke showing. Engine 2 with a full crew was the first apparatus into the scene. A line was laid to the hydrant and the crew stretched a line to the door. A second line was also stretched from Engine 2 by members of Derby fire. Crews inside found the source of the fire and it was handled with a few water cans. All units were placed in service shortly after.
