Fire Prevention Week 10/8-10/14
To all Company 1 members. It's that time of year again to get out to the local schools and perform educate our future on EDITH and the fire service! A full crew for Engine 2 is needed for Fire Prevention at Lafayette School and St. Joseph's School on October 10th. The time is from 8AM to approximately 2PM. All interested members should contact 101.

Past Captain James Santelli
It is with deep regrets that the Officers and Members announce the passing of Past Captain James Santelli. Past Captain Santelli served as the Captain of Echo Hose in 1975 during the great BF Goodrich fire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Santelli family.

State Rep. Belden will be missed
On behelf of the Officers and Members of the Echo Hose H&L Co. 1, we wish the Family and Friends of State Representative Richard "Dick" Belden our deepest condolences. Dick was a great friend of the Shelton Fire Department for many years. His support of the SFD and the entire State of Connecticut over the past 32 years will truley be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Bertha "Bert" and the entire Belden family.

MVA on River Rd @ Longhill Ave.

At approximately 1530hrs on Friday, August 10th, 2007 companies 1 & 4 were dispatched to the intersection of River Rd and Long Hill Ave for a motor vehicle accident with required extrication. Extrication of one of two patients was required from a late model Ford Contour. Both were taken to Bridgeport hospital with serious injuries. Three individuals from the Subaru Legacy were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Squad 5
The ParaTech Rescue jacks have been mounted securely on Squad 5 on the drivers side second compartment. Other tools have been moved to different compartments as well so please take the time to go over the new tool locations on the Squad. -- Head Engineer VanWart

125th Anniversary Parade was a Success!

On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Echo Hose H&L Co. 1, thank you to everyone who came out to view the parade in celebration of 125 years of uninterupted service to the City of Shelton. The parade was lead by some local and state dignitaries followed by 24 different fire departments with over 50 fire trucks from all over Connecticut. A Special thanks to the Members of the Echo's and their families for making the parade such a success. Special thanks to Figure It Out, Cuppy's Cafe, Coffee Connection, Shelton Police Traffic Div., Pioneer Gas, Dichello's and Mayor Lauretti. PARADE RESULTS
