On this day in 2014, Box 212 was struck just before midnight for a working structure fire at 446 Howe Avenue. Members of the Echo Hose Hook and Ladder were called to this century old 4-story building initially for a broken sprinkler pipe but soon discovered a fire that had started in the basement of one of the businesses. Crews from Engine 2, Engine 4, and Tower 7 were able to remove all occupants from the building before it collapsed.
